Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive

This documentary came out quite awhile ago although I only just saw it, but it really does give probably the best insight into what it is like to live with bipolar disorder. To be quite honest I never know how to explain it to people without them thinking I need a lobotomy(kidding). It also seemed like a timely occasion to post it with not one but two celebrities revealing bipolar diagnosis this week(thank god because maybe Life Mag can edit out Phil Spector out of the celeberties with bipolar gallery…just don’t think he’s a great representation).

Anyways this is the first time I’ve ever felt I’ve really heard mania and depression accurately described(at least how I feel them) in a way that isn’t overly clinical or dramatic, that can hopefully also make sense to those who don’t suffer.

The first part is below along with links to the rest of the documentary.

Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12
